Tom, an Economics student, has been involved in many things throughout his time at University, including the Tennis Squad, Economics Society and working with the Careers Network to obtain a ten-week internship with Centrica in summer 2014.
If you were to give a piece of advice to a current/prospective student at UoB, what would it be?
My advice would be to use your time as well as you can. With your studies, part-time work, sport, and other extracurricular activities, it often feels like you don't have enough hours in the day - especially as you move into final year. Plan your time well, make sure you stay ahead of the game with your degree and you should never have to find yourself sacrificing a friend's birthday party for a night in the ?library!
If you could re-do your time at UoB is there anything you'd do differently?
?I would have definitely made sure I forced myself to try new things, as I got involved with a lot of things during my time at University but it was always things well within my comfort zone. If I had the chance to do my time again I would've pushed my boundaries - tried a sport I'd never heard of before or joined the skydiving society - you get a lot of opportunities here that you're unlikely to encounter again.
