1. Application process
1.1 The 2016 Brum Bag Design Competition is only open to alumni of the University of Birmingham, and students graduating in Summer 2016. An alumnus/alumna is defined for this purpose as a student formerly registered with the University of Birmingham who has successfully completed a programme of study.
1.2 Entrants are welcome to submit more than one design.
1.3 Entries must be submitted electronically via the online application form.
1.4 Entries must be supplied as an EPS File.
1.5 The closing date for the competition is 5pm on Monday 27 July 2016.
1.6 No responsibility will be accepted for entries lost, delayed, damaged, or mislaid.
2. Judging process
2.1 Entries will be selected for a shortlist by a panel of University of Birmingham staff. The decision of the panel is final. Shortlisted applicants will be informed by email by Friday 29 July.
2.2 The shortlisted designs will be published on the University’s web pages and the final winner will be selected via an online social media poll.
3. Consent and copyright
3.1 By submitting an entry, all entrants:
a) agree that their submission(s) becomes the sole property of the University
b) authorise the University to use, publish and reproduce submitted entries without compensation in the context of University promotions, resources, marketing, social media, advertising and events both in hard copy and electronic format and not solely in relation to the Brum Bag Design Competition;
c) warrant that the entry is made without inclusion of any material owned by a third party and is entirely the entrant’s own work. It is the responsibility of entrants to ensure they are compliant with ownership and copyright laws;
d) agree to have their name and degree details (course and year of graduation) released as a shortlisted and/or winning designer.
3.2 The winner agrees to participate in promotional activity, including use of their name and degree details (course and year of graduation) to be printed on the bag.
4. Data Protection

Entrants have the right to object to the use of their data and to opt out of communications by contacting email@example.com .
5. Our Rights
5.1 If the University finds reason to believe entries submitted do not meet these requirements, the entry will not be considered.
5.2 The University reserves the right to withdraw the competition if entries of sufficient quality are not received, and is not obliged to use a competition entry in the final design.
