Fundraise for us
Did you know you and your friends can raise money for University research just by doing something fun and challenging?
Why support research at Birmingham?
For more than a century, research at the University has created a major impact on the city, the region and the world. Our research has had a lasting impact on countless lives, by positively effecting different cultures and industries. Our ongoing research continues to create innovative, grounded and enduring solutions to some of the world’s biggest issues.
We are committed to finding solutions to global challenges, and this year we are specifically focusing our fundraising for our miscarriage research project. The University of Birmingham is the leading partner of the Tommy's centre for miscarriage and together we require your support to continue its ground-breaking research. We aim to significantly reduce the one in four pregnancies that result in a miscarriage, by examining and understanding the reasons behind them. We wish to further develop our projects by running specialist clinics that will provide data needed to do research into unexplained miscarriages.
Miscarriage is currently our main focus, however this does not take away from the other amazing causes and projects we are running at the moment. We have other research and student support projects – if you think these may be of interest to you, then please see our projects page for the full range of projects that you can support. We take pride in the fact that whether your donation is £1 or £500,000, 100% of your donation will go to the project you choose.
How to get involved
An amazing part about community fundraising is that everything is completely your choice: what type of event, when, where and for what cause.
Whether it’s a once in a lifetime challenge or a bake sale in the office, every effort counts and will have a transformative impact, both globally and locally.
If doing something active is the challenge for you, then take a look at some of the events happening in and around Birmingham over the next few months to see if any take your fancy. The Birmingham half and very first full marathon are taking place on the 15th October 2017, so now is the best time to sign up if you’ve been thinking about it for a while!
Head of Alumni Relations
“We're open to any ideas people might have, whether they're tried and tested or something more original. This is a brilliant way for our alumni and other supporters to raise money and enjoy themselves at the same time.”
