If you wish to tell us that you have remembered the University in your will, we would love to hear from you in order to thank you properly and keep you up to date with relevant news. As a small way of saying 'thank you' for your generosity we have established the Rowbotham Fellowship for anyone who has remembered the University in their will.
The Rowbotham Fellowship
This is a special group for anyone who has remembered the University in their will. Members are invited to an exclusive reception on our beautiful Edgbaston campus once a year, and receive an annual update about the impact of gifts in wills at Birmingham. The Fellowship is named after Birmingham dignitary Sir Samuel Rowbotham, who made the first recorded legacy gift to the University. Sir Samuel was the son of Thomas Rowbotham, whose construction company built most of our red-brick campus at the turn of the 20th Century.
The Register of Bequests
If you have currently included the University in your will, we would be delighted to include your name in our leather-bound Register of Bequests. The Register, updated annually, is kept on permanent display outside the Great Hall and provides an excellent opportunity for us to raise awareness about legacy giving amongst the 80,000 visitors who pass by every year and tp demonstrate how important your very special gift is to us.
