The second Bringing Birmingham to You: London Eye event took place on Thursday 31 May. Attendees met for drinks in the Eye Lounge and then boarded their chosen pod on the London Eye. The speakers were:
Dr Maureen Mapp, Birmingham Law School, who spoke about cryptocurrencies, their usefulness in the developing world and the challenges of regulation.
Professor Simon Esmonde Cleary, Emeritus Professor of Roman Archaeology, who spoke about London's fascinating hidden Roman history and pointed out features as we looked out at the cityscape below.
We enjoyed two rotations of the Eye, giving attendees time to ask questions, network and enjoy the view. Drinks and canapés were served on board.
'Bringing Birmingham to You' is an events series from the Alumni Office, bringing Birmingham academics to our alumni community. No prior knowledge of the subject matter is necessary.
