Gratitude - April 2018

Lapworth Roary Thanks

Gratitude 2018 was a new event to thank and celebrate the contribution of alumni donors and volunteers. Students Louis Holliday and Donovan Simpson were there to personally thank the donors and volunteers for the impact they'd had on their student experience, as recipients of scholarships and mentoring.

Our academic speakers were Professor Rob MacKenzie from Birmingham Institute of Forest Research, Professor Matthew Broome from the Institute for Mental Health and Jon Clatworthy, Director of the Lapworth Museum. They gave us some fascinating insight into their work and told us how they'd benefited from alumni donations.

The real star of the show was the Lapworth Museum itself. Gratitude was an exciting new way to see the space, especially with talks happening simultaneously around the museum for the small groups to rotate around. It was great to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the museum's most precious items during Jon's talk.
