On the 9th November over 260 alumni, friends and supports of the University, travelled from across Europe, North America and other parts of world to celebrate our fifteenth annual House of Lords Reception. This celebration was attended by graduates from 1953 to 2017 spanning over more than 60 years of University history.
Lord Bilimoria took the opportunity to warmly welcome everyone to the event, and to share in some of the University’s recent successes, including our ranking as a top 100 university according to the QS University Rankings.
Professor Sir David Eastwood highlighted some of the University’s major achievements over the past year, including the opening of our new campus in Dubai with 100 students now enrolled on subjects including engineering, computer science and teacher training through a combination of local teaching and flying faculty.
This incredibly popular reception was an enjoyable evening of conversation with old classmates and new friends. Wine and canapés were served throughout the evening as alumni enjoyed views of the Thames, the London Eye, and other landmarks from the terrace followed by a tour of the House of Commons.
Thanks to everyone who attended and made the evening such an enjoyable and memorable occasion. We are very grateful for the continuing support of our alumni.
Next year’s reception will take place in autumn 2019. Details of the event will be emailed to all alumni and online booking will be available in August. To ensure you receive your invitation, please visit www.your.bham.ac.uk to update your contact details.
