Enabling Innovation

Enabling-Innovation

You have supported student and staff to make their creative ideas a reality. From campus improvements to supporting student societies, you have hepled to fund over 250 projects totalling more than £2.5 million since 2002.

Professor Janet Lord, Head of School of Immunity and Infection "Donations from alumni funded a two-day summer school on the topic of Healthy Ageing for 100 trainee health professionals. We were able to put on a very full and challenging programme covering disciplines from podiatry to dentistry, nursing and medicine. All students said they found the event extremely valuable and the topics discussed really changed their attitude towards older adults"

Over the last year, more than 40 projects ranging from the Student Grow Club to a multi-faith prayer room have received funding from alumni donations.

These projects truly demonstrate the depth and breadth of expertise and originality on display at Birmingham, from funding intelligent robots to work with autistic children to looking at ways to engage girls with computer science and showcasing student playwrites. You have helped to bring these ideas to life. Thank you.
