Hong Kong alumni support scholarships
Thanks to generous donations from alumni, ten scholarships have been awarded to students from Hong Kong to study at the University of Birmingham.
Generous donations from alumni have fully funded two of the scholarships, which demonstrate the University’s longstanding commitment to the education of Hong Kong students and will enable the brightest and best young minds to study at Birmingham.
The scholars will begin their studies in September and have secured places on a range of courses including Nuclear Science, Law and Finance.
So Yu Man, a Psychology student, says: ‘I am sincerely honored to have been selected as the recipient of the Hong Kong Outstanding Achievement Awards. This scholarship is an important recognition for me. With the generous support of the donors, I have more confidence in pursuing my goal as a psychologist, assist people with emotional disorders and make changes to families in the future.’
The successful students will be attending the Vice-Chancellor’s Reception in Hong Kong on 8 September where they will get the chance to meet Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma.
