James-Green-sm2James Green (BA German and Italian Studies, 2005; MPhil German Studies 2007) Proposal Writer and PhD student, University of Birmingham  "Continuing my studies at Birmingham provided me with the opportunity to do something I enjoy in more detail. The University and my department have been absolutely brilliant. Further study has allowed me to develop new skills and has also broadened my horizons, opening my eyes to ideas and opportunities that I would never have considered previously."

Sully-sm2Suleman Khan (BSc Chemistry, 2010) Doctoral Researcher
"My PhD has allowed me to take ownership and responsibility of my own project, make my own decisions and apply all of the knowledge that I accumulated during my undergraduate degree on a daily basis. A PhD is highly valued and respected across a varied spectrum of employers, including non-academic fields. If you still enjoy uni life and want to engross yourself further in a subject you enjoy, definitely consider a PhD at Birmingham."
