Employability, internships, and opportunities

Smiling graduates talking amongst themselves

The Careers Network Dubai can help you explore various opportunities to gain work experiences, and mentorships, and participate in exchange programmes, internships, and more.

As an integral part of the UK Careers Network, Careers Network Dubai works extensively to adapt its services to align with local employment and talent needs. The university is committed to developing relationships with a range of industry partners so that they contribute to our students' teaching and learning. This includes sector-specific internships, graduate schemes, creating relative employer relations, career-topic student sessions and mentorship opportunities.

Our key links with industry partners and employers include RTA, Dubai Police, Barclays Bank, ACCA, ICAEW, Creative Zone, AIESEC, WIO Bank and Keolis/MHI (Dubai Metro). These companies offer a range of diverse incentives i.e., industry visits, networking events, on-campus guest speaker seminars, scholarships, internship opportunities, mentorship programmes, and entrepreneurship workshops to our students.

Students at the University of Birmingham Dubai also have access to exchange programmes where specific courses provide students with the option to complete their final year at the UK campus. The seamless transition allows students to access the Careers Network based at the home campus, empowering international students to apply for opportunities in the UK.

Additionally, employability is embedded within the curriculum through module-based learning i.e., induction sessions during the fresher weeks, year-in-industry programmes (business, engineering, accounting etc.), and professional development modules embedded in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

“I could not have landed this internship without the help of the university's Careers Network. I’ve had a wonderful experience interning with Khansaheb for the last three months and have learned a lot about branding, social media marketing, and more. The internship was very hands-on and helped me experience a corporate office culture for the very first time. It’s amazing how I have been able to apply the knowledge gained from the lectures and modules to a practical real-world work setting.”
