E-Guidance

Dedicated support is available from the International Careers Consultant, based at the Birmingham campus, who will be able to answer any requests for advice and guidance, help you explore your global careers options, identify practical steps in moving forward with your goals and provide feedback on your CV and job applications.

You can email dubaicareers@contacts.bham.ac.uk for help on any matter related to your career planning. If your query is specific to your course you will be connected to the specialist Careers team for your subject.

You can also find courses, guides, videos and other information on career planning, applying for jobs and developing your workplaces skills on the Careers Services website.

Internships and Bursaries

We know that having a good degree is only part of the package graduate employers are looking for these days. We are constantly developing new opportunities to help students take that next step towards employment. Our Business & Employer Engagement Manager will source high quality work experience and internship opportunities for you with global companies, leading graduate recruiters, and small and medium sized enterprises. Alongside this, there will be work experience bursaries available for you to apply for to cover costs of undertaking work experience.

Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurial skills are important in developing your career or starting your business. The Careers Service team help you make an impact by making the most of yourself and the opportunities around you.

Connecting you with Employers

The Careers Service at the University of Birmingham Dubai is in demand from a range of employers from across the region and the globe. 

We offer a variety of meaningful opportunities to meet with employers to help you to explore your options as a student and on graduation. We work with employers to provide company presentations, skills development sessions, careers fairs, company visits and more informal ‘drop-in’ sessions, all of which provide opportunities for you to make informed choices on gaining the right work experience and graduate roles for you. You will meet employers and hear direct from them what they are looking for from their students and graduates.
