Support Services

From your first day on campus until your last, we'll make sure the right support is there for you whenever you need it. You'll also find plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, play an active role in university life and prepare for the world after your studies. 

Starting University and moving to a new place can be a daunting prospect however there is a wealth of support available to students. The Students' Association exists to offer support, guidance and academic advice throughout your University experience. As well as pastoral support, there is also opportunity for leadership representation throught the Student Council.

Welcome Week

To welcome you and help you settle into university life in Dubai, we run a dedicated programme at the start of term called Welcome Week. This includes everything from support with administrative tasks such as registering with a doctor through to campus and city tours and social events where you can meet other students from across the globe.

Support Services

We understand that adjusting to university life can be a big change. To help you with your transition a dedicated Wellbeing Officer can assist you with any academic or well-being concerns that you may have during your time with us. We want to ensure that you have the best support available in order for you to make the most out of your degree and university life.

The Voice of Students

As a member of our pioneering student group in Dubai, you will have the opportunity to help shape the voice of students within our community through the Students’ Association. Working in partnership with the University, you will be able to set up student societies and organise trips and extra-curricular activities – a great way to meet people and try something new! We encourage you to engage with us and have your sayon our future plans as the University of Birmingham expands in Dubai.

Mentoring

Mentoring provides you with the opportunity to receive advice from professionals working in an area you are interested in. This can be a great way to understand how to succeed in this area and be better prepared for the workplace as well as receive practical advice on employability.
