Modules

Please note that all modules offered on the International Business MSc course are compulsory.

Students will also undertake a Dissertation project worth 60 credits.

Our Standard Requirements

A good Honours degree (2:1 or higher) or postgraduate diploma from a UK university or equivalent. 

We accept a range of qualifications from different countries – learn more about international entry requirements.

Standard English language requirements apply (IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band).


IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band is equivalent to:

  • TOEFL: 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): PTE Academic 67 with no less than 64 in all four skills
  • Cambridge English (exams taken from 2015): Advanced – minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component

International Requirements


The University of Birmingham Dubai offers access to a brand-new, state-of-the-art campus where you will be part of a supportive community who you will get to know personally. 

You will have the same teaching as offered on our Edgbaston campus, meaning you will receive an education from a top 100, globally respected research-intensive Russell Group university. The flexible programme will allow you to tailor your studies to suit your personal circumstances such as intensive weekend studies and evening classes so you can study while you work. You will also benefit from small class sizes and personalised one-to-one sessions with your tutor.

The MSc International Business programme is delivered through a combination of seminars, lectures, class discussions, group work, case-study analysis and presentations. Assessments will take the form of individual essays, group assessments, end of term examinations and a dissertation.
