This scholarship recognises UAE-based students who accept their offer and pay the deposit early, with an additional 10% award for the first year of undergraduate or postgraduate taught study.

Who can apply?

Available for September 2026 entry only.

The additional 10% scholarship is available to applicants already residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in year one of undergraduate courses (integrated foundation and bachelors) and postgraduate taught courses (certificate, diploma, masters) at the University of Birmingham Dubai. Postgraduate research programmes are not eligible for this scholarship.

Eligible nationalities and domiciles

This scholarship award is open to all nationalities who are domiciled in the UAE (residing in the UAE and holding a valid UAE residency).

How to Apply

A separate scholarship application is not required.

The Secure Your Spot Scholarship is awarded by the Scholarship Committee after you have accepted your Conditional Offer from the University of Birmingham Dubai and paid the AED 5,000 deposit, with only final grades pending.

The deposit must be paid by 30 June 2026

Proof of UAE residency is required (a copy of your Emirates ID and/or residency permit); please ensure you upload this to the Admissions portal.

What are the general terms and conditions?

Can this scholarship be combined with other scholarships in Dubai?

This scholarship may be combined with the Undergraduate Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship or Postgraduate Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship, where eligible.

Do I need to submit any extra documents to be considered?

Proof of UAE residency is required (a copy of your Emirates ID and/or residency permit); please ensure you upload this to the Admissions portal. No separate scholarship application is required.

How will I be notified if I am successful?

If you accept your offer and pay the AED 5,000 deposit before the Scholarship Committee review following your Conditional Offer, the Secure Your Spot Scholarship will be included in your initial scholarship confirmation email, normally issued within 10 working days.

If acceptance and deposit take place after the scholarship confirmation has already been issued, a revised scholarship confirmation will be issued to include the award.
