Student transport

The University of Birmingham Dubai offers students term-time transport services to and from campus.

How our transport service works

  • Routes: bus routes are planned based on student demand and will be confirmed closer to the start of the term
  • Coverage: services typically include key areas in Dubai, Ajman, and Sharjah. This may extend to Abu Dhabi, depending on interest and the number of students signing up for a particular route
  • Eligibility: transport is available to all undergraduate and PGCE students

Transport fees are charged per term or at a discounted rate for the full academic year.

How to register

  1. Complete your online registration and ensure you have your class timetable
  2. Fill in the transport registration form with your details
  3. We’ll confirm available routes based on demand, and provide you with your bus schedule and an invoice, which you can pay by bank transfer or credit card
  4. Until you receive confirmation of your transport schedule from the transport provider, please make your own way to campus

Frequently asked questions

When should I register for student transport?

Registration starts before each term (September and January). Please ensure you have completed the online registration and have your class timetable before registering for transportation. 

What are the fees for student transport?

The fees for the transport services per term (Term 1 and Term 2), and for the full year at a discounted rate, are specified on this page.  

How do I pay for student transport?

An invoice will be sent to you shortly after you have registered for the transport service. Once you have received an invoice, you can pay via direct bank transfer or credit card directly to our transport provider.

Can I cancel the student transport once I have registered?

You can cancel within 2 weeks of registering for the service (or by week 2 of the semester) for those who register outside of term time. Following this, in the event you wish to cancel the service, you will still be liable to pay the transport fees in full for the term. Transport fees once paid cannot be refunded.

Can I change the location of the student transport after registration?

If you plan to change the location of the pick-up and drop-off, please ensure you inform the transport provider directly at least one week before the change.
