Transport in Dubai

There are lots of transport options in Dubai, making it easy for you to travel around and explore the city.

Public Transport

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) website provide information about public transport in Dubai. You can use their website to check timetables and routes, us their journey planner, and get answers to any queries you have.

You can also phone the RTA on 800-90-90 (+97146051414 from overseas) or download one of their apps to help you plan your journeys on the go.

Taxis

To arrange a taxi, you can call the RTA's dedicated number on +971(0)42080808. Visit the RTA Taxi Services site for more information about fares and the range of services available, including taxis for passengers with disabilities.

Shuttle buses

Your accommodation provider may offer a shuttle bus service from your accommodation to key locations in Dubai, such as shopping malls and campus.

The University will be providing bus transport to a range of destinations in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. Routes will be planned closer to the start of the academic year. You can assist us by letting us know as early as you can that you would like to use the transport. Please email dubai@contacts.bham.ac.uk to register your interest.

The cost of the University's bus service will vary depending on location and distance to campus, with fees to be finalised once routes have been confirmed.
