Travel to Dubai

Dubai is less than an eight hour flight away for two-thirds of the world's population, and is a key hub for flights around the world, making it an easy location to travel to.

Dubai is served by Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central Airport (DWC), with many international airlines operating direct flights to both airports. Visit their websites to find out more about the flights available and information to help you plan your journey.

When should I arrive?

Welcome Week, the main induction and orientation period for new students, begins on Sunday 23 September. All students are expected to attend Welcome Week, so you should plan to arrive before Sunday 23 September. Make sure you have planned your journey. You will need to confirm arrangements for moving into your chosen accommodation with the accommodation provider.

Arriving in Dubai

Make sure you understand what type of entry permit and/or visa you will need to enter the UAE as a student. Find out more about visa support for students. You will need to make sure you carry any necessary documentation with you in your hand luggage so that you can access it when you arrive. Visit our what to bring page for more information about what you should bring with you when travelling to Dubai.

Once you have passed through immigration, you will need to collect your luggage before travelling onwards from the airport.

Travelling to accommodation

It is likely that you will want to travel to your accommodation site first, before visiting campus. Dubai's airports are well-connected for travel, with taxis, the metro, and car rental all easily available in the arrivals area. Visit the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) website for information on public transport options and to plan your journey. You can also download their apps to help you plan your journeys using your phone, or call the RTA call centre on 800-9090 for help with queries, which is available 24/7.
