Intensive Care Physiotherapy

Event Capacity: 20

Year Group: 10, 11 and 12

Subject(s): Physiotherapy

Attendee Requirements: Attendees should be studying A-Level Biology

About: This hands-on Masterclass will provide students with an introduction to Physiotherapy in an Intensive Care setting. Using the simulation dummies to explore how physiotherapists work in intensive care and acute medicine, students will experience what it is like to work as a physiotherapist in respiratory medicine.

There will be opportunities to listen with stethoscopes, interpret observation charts and use other equipment used in this setting. The aim is to allow A Level Biology students to gain insight into another area of physiotherapy outside of sports and musculoskeletal therapy.

Additional Information: Schools will be limited to 5 places for this class. Individual bookings can be made by students in Year 12.

To find out more about any of the Masterclasses, please e-mail the Masterclass team.
