Volcanic and Seismic Hazards at the Lapworth Museum of Geology

Attendee Requirements: Attendees should have or be studying for GCSE Geography

About: In this Masterclass, students will be able to see how seismic waves are recorded and use real data to plot the epicentre of an Earthquake. They will be able to examine and describe different volcanic rocks and deposits and link these to specific volcanic hazards and plate tectonic boundaries.

Students will also get the chance to explore the Lapworth Museum of Geology with a fun and informative guided tour before taking part in a hands-on hazardous workshop in the Museum's Education Room.

Additional Information: Schools will be limited to 5 places for this class. Individual bookings can be made by students in Year 12 and.
