Irene Nemirovsky and Suite francaise

Dates
Wednesday 20 March 2013 (14:00-15:00)

Irène Némirovsky was a French-Russian-Jewish novelist who died in Auschwitz in 1942. Her unfinished novel Suite française, written in 1940-41 and published posthumously in France in 2004, immediately became an international bestseller, but its publication in the 21st century has also caused controversy. Dr Angela Kershaw's lecture explores the work of  Irène Némirovsky, with an opportunity for discussion at the end.
