DESCRIPTION:The University of Birmingham's School of Nursing are taking 30 pre-registration student nurses to the RCN Black History Month Conference. Dr Ruth May, the Chief Nursing Officer for England, will give on of the two keynote speeches at the event; the other will be delivered by Peaches Golding, the Lord-Lieutenant of Bristol. The conference will be compered by West Midlands poets Dreadlock Alien and Kurly McGeachie and the RCN's Equality and Diversity Coordinator, Wendy Irwin, all of whom have appeared at the event in the past and proved to be extremely popular with delegates. The conference will include a choir, a fashion show of nurse uniform through history and the UoB student nurses will have an exclusive Q&A session with Dr Ruth May after her keynote speech.\n
