He is the associate editor and chief economics commentator at the Financial Times. \n \n He will be visiting the University of Birmingham to deliver a lecture entitled “The Shift and the Shocks: lessons of the global financial crisis". \n \n Martin was awarded the CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in 2000 "for services to financial journalism" and has been a forum fellow at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos since 1999. \n \n
