Edward Stringer

Air Vice-Marshall Edward Stringer CBE MA BEng RAF, Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations) will be delivering the WMMEC annual lecture on "Air Power in the 21st Century".

With controversy surrounding the deployment of ‘boots on the ground’ it increasingly falls to airpower to be the instrument of choice in the employment of military force. What can be achieved through airpower, however, and what are the implications of the increasing resort to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the military realm? These and other matters will be addressed in this lecture.

The lecture will start at 6pm and will be held in the new Aston Webb Main Lecture Theatre, followed by a drinks reception held in the rotunda of the Bramall Music Building. The event is free to attend but registration is required because the venue capacity is 250.
