After years of transformation and regeneration, Birmingham continues to change rapidly. The city has a clear vision about where it is going; but what role should a global university play in the city’s development?  And how can a range of new buildings and infrastructure leave a lasting legacy that excites current and future generations?

At the University of Birmingham we have spent the last few years planning the largest ever capital development of our 280 acre Edgbaston site, and so these have been active questions across campus that have stimulated many vibrant discussions. As visible progress is being made on campus, we want to open up those discussions to hear from other specialists and leaders across the city and to consider together the possibilities that the future holds.

Please join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion and evening reception at the University of Birmingham to learn more about our exciting capital programme.  Our panel will include:

Professor Alice Roberts (Chair), Professor of Public Engagement in Science, University of Birmingham

Neil Rami, Chief Executive, Marketing Birmingham

Michael Roden, Principal, University of Birmingham School (opening September 2015)

Ian Standing, Managing Director, Associated Architects

Professor Kiran Trehan, Professor of Leadership and Enterprise Development, University of Birmingham

Jonathan Watkins, Director, Ikon Gallery
