DESCRIPTION:The China Institute is delighted to announce that Professor Yan Zheng, Chair Professor, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology will deliver our 2021 Li Siguang Lecture on the topic "Enhancing Groundwater Sustainability for Climate Resilience". The lecture will be streamed live across YouTube and Facebook at 13:00 BST, Thursday 28 October, and will be posted to our University of Birmingham WeChat account on the same day.
 Please join us for what promises to be an in depth and fascinating discussion on how groundwater – the water found underground in the nooks and crannies in sand and rock - can ensure climate resilience of our water supply.\n
 The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion chaired by Professor Iseult Lynch - Professor of Environmental Nanosciences. Professor Zheng will also be joined on the panel by Professor Stefan Krause - Professor of Ecohydrology and Biogeochemistry, Dr Shirley Ye - Lecturer in Asian History and Dr Mike Jones - Water Resources Modelling Lead, Thames Water.\n
