SUMMARY:Chronic Breathlessness Dance Workshop
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/191385
DESCRIPTION:Chronic breathlessness dance workshop – fun, research-led taster session
The Breathe Well study explores ways to improve diagnosis and treatment for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). People with COPD often struggle with fatigue, breathlessness, fear and loneliness. But it is possible to reduce these feelings through physical activity, education and group support. For the last four years Siân Williams from the Breathe Well research team has been leading mixed dance sessions, specially designed for people living with long term breathlessness.\n
Sian Williams will be leading a taster session for us on Saturday 18 December. Come along and give it a try – all are welcome. You can do as much or little as you want and take part either standing or seated. No experience or special kit needed (though flat shoes are preferable).\n
This workshop is presented as part of The Air We Breathe, a brand new public progamme at The Exchange bringing together cutting edge research from across the University of Birmingham. From a hydrogen train to a sci-fi forest, discover how the University is delivering clean air both here in Birmingham and around the world.\n
