DESCRIPTION:Housing and Communities is an important arena for current policy and practice challenges in relation to welfare reform, public expenditure reductions, homelessness, housing supply shortages, financial inclusion, anti-social behaviour, worklessness, Localism, the 'Big Society' and the role of third sector in service delivery. Research and knowledge transfer on these topics plays a key role in the University's civic engagement agenda. \n We are inviting researchers from across the University and from the housing sector in the West Midlands to our second open seminar on 7 May. \n Speakers: \n David Mullins, Professor of Housing Policy, Housing and Communities Research Group Dr Richard Lang, Visiting Plowden Research Fellow, Housing and Communities Research Group and  Senior Research Fellow WU Vienna University of Economics and Business, Research Institute for Co-operation and Co-operatives Chair: Angus McCabe, Third Sector Research Centre and Social Policy, University of Birmingham.  \n Cost: Free of charge\n Further information available on the Institute of Advanced Social Studies events pages\n
