This Workshop is part of the Economic and Social Research Council's (ESRC) annual Festival of Social Science, and it provides an opportunity for discussion of the implications of social science research for non-academic audiences. Researchers at the University of Birmingham's Third Sector Research Centre (TSRC) will summarise some of their recent quantitative and qualitative research on the impact of the recession and the public expenditure cuts on third sector organisations, and their responses to this. There will then be an opportunity for organisations in Birmingham to share their experiences of these events and to discuss the lessons that can be learnt about how to promote and support resilience within organisations.

The event is intended for members of voluntary and community organisations within the City, and anyone with an interest in the promotion and development of local organisations.

Registration will be with Birmingham Voluntary Service Council, details to follow on their website and on the Third Sector Research Centre website.
