SUMMARY:Curating the Campus: Highlights from the Research and Cultural Collections
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/121274
DESCRIPTION:Since the University’s earliest days, objects have been used and displayed around campus for teaching, research and inspiration. Many of the Research and Cultural Collections are displayed in spaces where people work, study and relax and this exhibition ‘curates the campus’ to display key objects from these dispersed collections. We will tell the stories of these objects and examine what they show us about the university: from sculptural masks to WWII shrapnel, prosthetics to faience figures. Featuring stunning new photography of the collections, the exhibition shines a spotlight on these treasures and highlights the intriguing breadth of objects in the Research and Cultural Collections.\n
