DESCRIPTION:The seminar will be led by Simon Guilfoyle, Police Inspector, with Professor Sue White, Professor of Social Work (Children and Families), as the discussant. \n Stick Child (an imaginary 9 year old) and his creator, Simon Guilfoyle (Police Inspector and Systems Thinker) will explore some of the ideas about systems, targets and performance management in public services in this seminar. \n In the meantime, you may wish to read about some of Stick Child's adventures on Simon's blog or take a look at his book, Intelligent Policing. Simon is a serving Police Inspector and systems thinker, passionate about doing the right thing in policing. Simon writes, lectures and advises on the benefits of incorporating systems thinking principles into policing, having studied the works of W. Edwards Deming and associated authors and successfully applied their theories to operational policing.\n Cost: Free of charge\n
