Towards Best Practice: Diversity and Professional Placement Learning Environments (The DAPPLE Study)

In this engagement event we present the early findings from an exciting research study undertaken at the University of Birmingham. We know from previous projects that there are two principal problems:
- Uncertainty among the general student population in providing appropriate support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer (LGBTQ) people using their services;
- Specific concerns among LGBTQ students about disclosure of sexuality while on practice placement.
Multiple methods were used to investigate these problems and to identify best practice examples across a range of disciplines.
