We know that the perception of the world of Business has historically been one of a competitive and ruthless sector which is steeped in tradition and outdated ways of thinking. Whilst there still may be some truth in this, the world is changing - and this generation of students will be the ones who will do more to proactively change the face of Business forever.

As part of the Business School’s commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion we have created a series of events that will celebrate those who are changing the rules on who can participate and succeed in business and explore particular issues and concerns some of you may have in terms of future job hunting.

To mark LGBTQ+ History Month, this particular event is open to all students and staff to help educate everyone on the experiences of others we work with and be an ally at work - but will be of particular interest and benefit our LGBTQ+ students who would like to explore how they can be their authentic selves and thrive in the workplace.

In an exciting open Q&A panel session - PhD student, Lowri Evans (she/her), will be joined by alumni and students who will be sharing their experiences and offer advice on how to overcome specific barriers that may be faced.

  • Matt Cameron - Global Managing Director at LGBT Great (he/him)
  • Sorcha Hughes - LGBTQ+ Officer at the Guild of Students (they/them)
  • Suki Sandhu - Founder and CEO of Involve – the inclusion people and Audeliss (he/him)

Lowri talks about what to expect from this event
