SUMMARY:Using maths to survive the zombie apocalypse (Years 12 and 13)
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/165808
DESCRIPTION:This event is cancelled.\n
 Class capacity: 90\n
 Year group: 12 and 13\n
 Subjects: Mathematics and Biology\n
Attendee requirements: Attendees should be studying A level Maths (Biology is not required)\n
About: Understanding how an infection such as COVID-19 spreads through a population, or how different populations interact with each other, is essential to maintain healthy and diverse populations. By describing these situations with maths, we can make predictions about what will happen when a particular treatment/containment strategy will be most effective. We will show students how to develop these mathematical models and look at ways to ensure the human race survives if (and when) the zombies attack!\n
Additional information: Schools will be limited to 20 places for this class. Individual bookings can be made by students in Years 12 and 13.\n
