DESCRIPTION:Join us for tours of The Exchange as part of Birmingham Heritage Week, a city-wide festival in which local places and spaces will open their doors to inspire and surprise you with Birmingham’s rich history and heritage.\n
 Our friendly guides will take you on a journey through time, revealing the secrets of this beautiful art deco building, from its beginnings as the headquarters of the Birmingham Municipal Bank to the University’s recent redevelopment and restoration. You will explore the stunning banking hall, see the original safe deposit boxes and vaults, visit rooms not normally open to the public and learn about the building’s unique features and design.\n
 Tours run:\n

Friday 15 September, 9.30am and 11am
Saturday 16 September, 11am and 1pm*

 *our 1pm tour is a British Sign Language tour\n
 This event is presented as part of A Place to Call Home a new public programme of exhibitions, activities and events exploring what home means to all of us.
