SUMMARY:The History of Moor Pool Estate – Lunchtime Talk
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/207780
DESCRIPTION:The Moor Pool Estate was the vision of John Sutton Nettlefold, and built on the principles of providing low density housing centred around a community hall, interspersed with green spaces and provision of recreational and sporting facilities to encourage social cohesion.\n
Now a designated Conservation Area it remains a fine example of a Garden Suburb built in a humble Arts & Crafts style to provide affordable housing in a semi-rural environment.\n
This talk will explore the origins of the Estate and Nettlefold’s vision initially as co-partnership housing scheme run by Harborne Tenants Ltd from origins to today.\n
Your ticket to this talk includes admission to the site so why not make a day of it?\n
Free entry to the site applies as normal for members of Winterbourne, the University of Birmingham, HHA and RHS if you are a member of any of these organisations, please buy a members ticket.\n
All other tickets include a reduced admission to the site for the day.\n
