In Suyil's current role as the Engineering Lab Manager, he ensures the smooth operation of the range of complex specialist equipment and materials in the Engineering Laboratory and managing 2 technical staff.
The technical team is responsible for ensuring the lab spaces are well equipped and safe for students to learn practical engineering skills. Being creative, solving design problems and working with different people are areas where we are particularly skilled.
The CTL operates teaching laboratories for undergraduate students studying Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Educational Technology significantly improves the student experience in each of these spaces, including pre-lab materials that provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills before they enter the lab; in-lab assistance to ensure they make the most of their lab time; and post-lab analysis, reporting, and assessment.
