Family Fun Events - From Fire to Ice

 From Fire To Ice

Join us for an afternoon of violent volcanic eruptions and giant Ice Age predators at the Lapworth Museum. With crafts, demonstrations, talks and trails, there’s plenty to enjoy at this Saturday afternoon family event.

No bookings required, this is a free event.

Hosted with ‘Birmingham’s Erratic Boulders: Heritage of the Ice Age’ 

 

Timetable

Discover the history of Birmingham’s Boulders, from Fire to Ice! : 1:00pm and 2:30pm (recommended age 4+) [Education Room] 

Watch a volcanic eruption and discover the science behind the reaction taking place: 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 3:30pm, 4:00pm, 4:30pm  [Outside (weather dependent)]

 

All Day

Craft activities; including badge-making, snowflake decorations, cut out volcanoes [Main Galleries]

Glacier movement demonstration using slime [Main Galleries]

Museum Trails [Pick up a trail sheet at reception]

Colouring and wordsearches! [Education Room]
