Textile techniques inspired by minerals

Crafted in Time: Textile Workshop

Join textile artist Louise Goult for a relaxing virtual textile workshop inspired by the Lapworth Museum’s collection.

The workshop will focus on using paper combined with embroidery to respond creatively to an object from the Museum collection. You will explore manipulation of paper and add details with a range of mark making techniques and embroidery stitches, responding to the shape, colour and texture of your chosen object. By the end of the workshop you will have created something unique to you and have many new creative skills.

Bookings for this workshop will open on Wednesday 28th April

To register for this free event please follow the link to our eventbrite webpage here.

Prior to the workshop, you will be sent a free kit in the post consisting of:

  • A selection of small pieces of fabrics
  • Needles
  • Papers suitable for embroidery
  • Pencils and colouring pencils
  • A set of instructions for the workshop.

Louise Goult is a textile artist inspired by people and their relationships with each other and the world around them. Louise uses a range of non-traditional materials including paper, metal, wood and found items, to emphasise the narrative within her work.
