Artsmark and Arts Award

The Lapworth Museum of Geology is a registered Arts Award Centre and Supporter with a trained advisor at Discover and Explore Level. Arts Award Discover is an introductory award which encourages children and young people to identify a range of art forms, take part in art activities, find out about artists and their work and share their art discoveries with others.

The Lapworth Museum has developed a range of fun and engaging activities that students can take part in at the museum in order to gain their Arts Award Discover certificate. Please note there is no cost associated with completing the award with the Lapworth Museum.

Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England, recognising their commitment to high quality arts and cultural education.

The Lapworth Museum of Geology is proud to be supporting schools and education settings on their Artsmark journey, inspiring children and young people to create, experience, and participate in, great arts and culture.

We offer education settings which are working towards, or currently hold an Artsmark Award, with the following opportunities:

• Virtual museum tours tailored to suit a variety of subject areas and key stages
• Free virtual education sessions which tie in with the Science, Geography and Geology National Curriculum and Exam Board Specifications
• Free CPD training on how Museums can support teaching in schools
• Delivery of Arts Award at Discover Level
