Duke of Cambridge receives dinosaur colouring in books

Duke of Cambridge receives dinosaur colouring in books filled with sketches created by Lapworth Volunteer Julian Kiely.

This week saw the Duke of Cambridge visit the University of Birmingham campus to celebrate the first graduates of the SkillForce Prince William Award – a pioneering character and resilience programme for young children.

The awards were announced by David Walliams and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and families involved.

On leaving the University the Duke of Cambridge was presented with three specially created dinosaur colouring in books for Prince George, Princesses Charlotte and Prince Louis. The books were filled with sketches created by Lapworth Museum of Geology Volunteer and Palaeoartist Julian Kiely. Julian has been volunteering at the Lapworth Museum for a number of years. He began volunteering in order to complete his Duke of Edinburgh award, but continued to work with us as he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Julian has recently started a BSc in Palaeontology at the University of Portsmouth.
