Forum Lecture TheatreLearning is a dynamic process that requires a versatile, spacious and comfortable environment, which is why the Centre for Professional Development accommodates formal and informal learning styles. The suite of rooms comprises 3 lecture theatres, break out rooms, an IT Hub and a social area with freeview TV for delegates to relax, allowing creativity to flourish.

Situated in the heart of the Medical School the centre is just a three minute walk from University train station. Such a central location makes it ideal for seminars, conferences, meetings and short courses.

All rooms are fitted with PC's and projection facilities, either Laser Projectors and Screens or LED Screens, each room benefits from natural daylight and Guest WiFi is available throughout the Medical School. 

The CPD Team are always on-hand to provide support from the point of booking to the day of your event.

The Centre for Professional Development offers full Day Delegate Rate from £35, minimum numbers apply.

Day Delegate rate includes:

  • Room hire
  • Hire of standard equipment (pc, projection facilities and flipchart)
  • Refreshments and buffet lunch 
  • Separate room for refreshments and lunch
  • Conference signage 
  • CPD staff on hand to support you through the day
  • Guest WiFi
  • Computer room available for delegates and speakers to access emails / internet 
    (3 computers and a printer)

 

Wolfson Centre for Medical Education
Leonard Deacon Lecture TheatreHousing the spectacular Leonard Deacon Lecture Theatre, plenty of exhibition space and excellent audio-visual equipment, the Wolfson Centre has the capacity to host large academic or professional events up to 400 people.

Day Delegate rate includes:

  • Room hire
  • Refreshments and a buffet lunch
  • Conference signage 
  • CPD staff on hand to support you through the day

Also available:  

  • Exhibition space, price on application
  • Staffed cloakroom, available on request

Full Day Delegate rate from £45.

The Wolfson Centre is available at weekends or outside of term time only, minimum numbers apply.

 

Laboratory facilitiesClinical Facilities

Laboratory facilities are available to hire within the Medical School. The teaching laboratories can cater for small or large groups and offers real hands on experience with a skilled dedicated support team.

Onsite facilities include:

  • 3 large co-located laboratories (combined capacity of 100) with linked AV facilities, pc/mac, overhead cameras and audio distribution throughout.
  • 1 laboratory (capacity of 24)
  • 1 tissue culture facility with 8 Class II cabinets and hypoxic/CO2 incubator (capacity of 10)
  • Microscope imaging
  • WiFi access
  • Gas available throughout
  • 7 fumehoods
  • Nearby Cold room storage facilities 
  • Nearby lift access for deliveries

All labs are licensed for Non-regulated animal procedures.

Standard equipment available includes:

  • Binocular bright field microscopes
  • Binocular Phase contrast microscopes
  • Inverted microscopes
  • Dissection microscopes
  • Multi-fluorescent microscope, binocular as well as inverted (FITC/TRITC/DAPI) with imaging software 
  • CO2 & standard 37°C incubators
  • Complete range of micropipettes and other standard life sciences based laboratory equipment
  • ADI Powerlab™ Teaching equipment 

The labs are available outside of term time only (April - July)
