DNA provides an opportunity to save rhinoceros in Borneo

“There are only 14 rhinoceros which live in captivity on the island of Borneo. Confined on this island, they are bound to extinction […]. The only possibility to save them is to re-create the genetic variability that allows them to survive, and introduce it in their DNA. To protect these animals from extinction, the University of Verona, MUSE of Trento and Sabah Foundation […] joined the “Noah’s Ark" project, created to protect Sumatra’s rhinoceros and, potentially any other species, from extinction.”
