Professor Li Wei
Li Wei ‘s role on the TLANG project is a Co-Investigator. Together with Zhu Hua (Birkbeck), he manages the London site of the project and the sports theme of the project.
Li Wei is Professor of Applied Linguistics at the UCL Institute of Education, London. His research interests are in the broad field of bilingualism and multilingualism, including bilingual and multilingual first language acquisition, bilingual interaction, language maintenance and language shift in immigrant communities, family language policy, and bilingual and multilingual education. His current research focuses on the creativity, criticality and social cognition of multilingual language users. His recent publications include: Translanguaging: Language, Bilingualism and Education(with Ofelia Garcia, 2014, Palgrave Macmillan) and Applied Linguistics(2014, Wiley-Blackwell), and the Research Methods ). He is the Principal Editor of the International Journal of Bilingualism (Sage. SSCI, INT 1) and book series editor for Wiley-Blackwell’s Guides to Research Methods in Language and Linguistics.
