Visiting Fellows Opportunities

The University of Birmingham supports a range of Fellowship opportunities aimed at early career lecturers or post-doctoral researchers. The schemes provide funding to promote research collaboration between Birmingham and Brazil and give Fellows the opportunity to obtain invaluable insight into working on international research projects.

Brazil Visting Fellows Scheme

Early career university lecturers or post-doctoral researchers currently working in Brazil are welcome to apply for the opportunity to spend up to three months at the University of Birmingham and carry out identified research projects.

UNESP/Birmingham Visiting Fellows Scheme

The UNESP/University of Birmingham staff travel scholarships is available annually for two early-career academic staff from UNESP and two early-career staff from the University of Birmingham to undertake fellowships of one to three months duration as visiting researchers at the other university. These fellowships are aimed to build lasting research links between the two institutions.

Distinguished Visiting Fellows Scheme

The University welcomes Visiting Fellows under other research council and externally funded programmes. Brazilian academics have been invited to the University of Birmingham as part of the Institute of Advanced Studies’ Distinguished Visiting Fellowships Scheme. This attracts outstanding academics from global leading institutions, who are operating at the cutting edge of their disciplines to work collaboratively with colleagues at the University of Birmingham.
