A 2nd year BSc Economics student has scooped a top prize in the C Rajagopalachari Essay Competition, a national essay competition named after the last Governor-General of India and prominent liberal politician, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari.

Neil Borate went on to win the 3rd prize (Rs 15,000).  Dr Colin Rowat of the Department of Economics reviewed and commented on Neil’s essay in preparation to the competition. He later expressed that the entire department were extremely proud of Neil and his great achievement.
