As always, members of ITSEE will be presenting at the SBL Annual Meeting this month in Boston, Massachusetts.
Several members of ITSEE will be involved in giving papers, including:
- Timothy Mitchell (PhD student), speaking on "Exposing Textual Corruption: Community as a Stabilizing Aspect in the Circulation of the New Testament writings during the Greco-Roman Era" in Session 19-308 (Book History and Biblical Literatures).
- Troy Griffitts (PhD student), speaking on "The New Testament Virtual Manuscript Room (NT.VMR) as gateway to the manuscripts" in Session 18-312 (Critical Editions of the German Bible Society).
- Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schmid (Honorary Fellow), speaking on "Editing John's Gospel Digitally: Resources for the Exegetical Community" in Session 19-134 (New Testament Textual Criticism).
- Ddr. Christina Kreinecker (Honorary Fellow), speaking on "The Need of Translations in New Testament Times" in Session 18-332 (Papyrology and Early Christian Backgrounds).
Attention is also drawn to the panel session on our colleague Candida Moss's book Reconceiving Infertility (Session 18-226) and the Novum Testamentum Graecum Editio Critica Maior session (Session 20-334)
In addition, ITSEE will be represented in the traditional 'Birmingham Breakfast' event on the Sunday morning (Session M19-7). This year it will include a new element showcasing postgraduate projects at Birmingham. All prospective and current postgraduate students and other collaborators are encouraged to attend.
