We had a brilliant week representing both the University and the Shell Eco Marathon at The Big Bang Fair! Held at the national exhibition centre in Birmingham, it’s the largest STEM exhibition and showcase for young people across the UK! It was really inspiring to chat to people of all ages showing an interest in our car, all asking some very challenging questions putting us through our paces. Some of my favourite questions from the week include: "How does someone even fit in there?" and "Is that car made for dogs?" which in retrospect I think it very much should be!

To say thank you for our work, Shell have gifted us a new race suit which will benefit the team greatly, as the current one is far too big.

We took part in the Engineering and Physical Sciences Trophy, a 6-aside football, tag rugby and netball tournament for all the societies in EPS. We placed 6th overall which was a fantastic effort from everyone. Special mentions to Ifenya for proving his engineering skills for correctly guessing the mass of a bag of sweets! Many thanks to EPS Trophy Team for organising the event!

Annabel and Andrew were invited to take part in a two-day Hypermesh training course at Altair Engineering in Leamington Spa as part of Altair University! We really enjoyed learning how to use the software which will be helpful in improving our current designs! We have gained a sponsorship from them and hope to use this software for CFD and FEA analysis. Thank you for having us!

Jessica has designed a new steering wheel to be resin 3D printed for our car! The steering wheel has been designed specifically for maximum visibility down the front of the car as well as ergonomically in terms of button placement. The finished result is amazing- thank you Jessica!
