Birmingham Precision Medicine Centre Industry Trials Hub (BPMC ITH) aims to change the relationship between BHP founder-member the University of Birmingham and its industry partners, working much more closely to develop accelerated clinical trials.

Professor Pam Kearns, Director of the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials at the University, explains how this new approach will streamline trials; enable multiple research questions to be answered simultaneously; and bring drugs and devices to patients more quickly, in this new video marking International Clinical Trials Day 2021.

We’ve been working over the last year to change our operating procedures and to better understand the needs of industry. By putting together a new framework, as well as a dedicated expert team, we are able to better meet the needs of industry, and therefore better meet the needs of patients.

The BPMC ITH will be a one- stop shop, a place where industry partners will be able to come and work with the University of Birmingham and the Clinical Trials Units to deliver trials to the regulatory standards required for licencing.
