The Dr. Basudev Kar Oration in the Humanities has recently been established by the Centre for Translation and Digital Humanities at Ravenshaw University in India. The Director of ITSEE, Professor Hugh Houghton, was invited to deliver today's inaugural address on the subject of Textual Scholarship and Digital Humanities.

In the presentation, Prof. Houghton spoke about ITSEE's work on the Editio Critica Maior of the Greek New Testament, the recent Codex Zacynthius Project, and addressed broader issues of the use of digital tools in humanities research. In addition to the audience in person in the Ravenshaw University Conference Centre, the lecture was streamed live on Facebook.
